Hi all –
Our next YP Luncheon is going to be a joint meeting with the production study group on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at EMGI at Brookhaven College at 11:45am. We will be having Pat Handren with Denbury Resources come back and give a talk on Acidizing. For those of you who missed his talk in the fall, he is NOT to be missed – he has a lot of knowledge and does a great job answering questions, especially the when, why, and how. The abstract is listed below, along with his bio.
Abstract:
Many wells that are being completed today involve stimulation to enhance the production. The method of stimulation that gets the most press is obviously fracturing. There is another method of stimulation that can be cost effective and yield excellent results in the right environment. Acidizing has been around since 1928. Many techniques and acids have evolved for use in the oilfield. While many of the techniques have been around for years the industry has failed to educate many of the newer engineers about the benefits of acidizing. The objective of this presentation will be to begin the process.
Bio:
Pat Handren is the Northern Region Engineering Manager with Denbury Resources, Inc. based in Plano, Texas, USA.
