Unconventional Reservoirs Are The Future – Be Prepared To Develop and Implement New Technologies

When: Tuesday, August 9, 2011 @ 11:45

Where: EMGI

Abstract: Unconventional Reservoirs Are The Future – Be Prepared To
Develop and Implement New Technologies

Are we running out of oil and gas in the U.S.?  Heck no.  There are enough hydrocarbon-based resources to last another 100 years.  Are we running out of the “easy” stuff to produce?  Well, maybe.  Almost all of the reserves remaining to be discovered and produced are trapped in unconventional reservoirs that require new (and more expensive) technologies to exploit.  Many of these technologies have been developed over the past several years, while some are still being developed as we speak.  Even more ideas that have not even been considered yet will be developed over the next 20 years and the young engineers of today will be the ones to develop and implement these technologies.  You need to stay up-to-date, so you will not be left behind.

Bio:

Bradley M. Robinson
Matador Resources Company
Vice President – Reservoir Engineering

Brad Robinson joined Matador Resources Company in August 2003 as one of its founders and serves as the company’s Vice President – Reservoir Engineering.  Prior to joining Matador, Mr. Robinson held the position of Advisor with Schlumberger Data & Consulting Services.  He worked with Schlumberger for six years following its acquisition of S. A. Holditch & Associates, Inc. in 1997.  Mr. Robinson joined Holditch as a Senior Petroleum Engineer when the consulting firm was formed in 1979, then later served as the Vice President – Production Engineering.  Mr. Robinson began his career in 1977 with Marathon Oil Company, serving as an Associate Production Engineer and later as a Reservoir Engineer in Midland.  Mr. Robinson received Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1977 and 1986, respectively.  He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, a member of SPE and is serving as the 2011 – 2012 Chairman of the Dallas Section of SPE.
